in kuwait

It has been a few days since my last post. I am now in Kuwait, sitting at the uso computers at the moment. We have been doing some training, making preps to go north. Life isn't bad except for the sandstorms. LOL The food is decent, the cot is, well it's a cot. Atleast it isn't hot right now. The temps get up to the low 80's and down to the 50's at night. I traded a world of snow at Fort Drum for a world of sand. I had a dream that Holly wanted to go to a beach on my R&R. That was a no go. All joking aside I am making the most out of it. Bye for now.

the big day

Well, I am leaving on a jet plane, as John Denver put it. Today is the big day. I say goodbye to the ones that are so precious to me. It is the day we knew was coming, but wished for just a few more days. First Sergeant told all the married soldiers to make the most out of the last couple months, and not have any regrets when we get down range. I feel like I have done that. I do not have any regrets and have made the most out of my time with my family. The next post will be from Kuwait.

weekends over

Well, it is now monday morning. I have just finished a four day weekend with my family. It has been great. I don't have to be at work until 1300, since most of the Army is hung over this morning. The pic is me and my beautiful wife Holly. Notice my fresh cut high and tight.lol We have been packing all weekend. We did get a lot done. Less stress for Holly. More to come tommorow.

family time

Well the weekend is finally here. I am trying to make the most of what little family time I actually get. Top said we have been getting maximum family time. I guess his idea of family time is getting home in time to watch our kids go to bed. Hopefully it will get better.

50 cal

The 50 cal was a lot of fun. I went out today rather than yesterday. It worked out for the best, instead of negative temps it was a balmy 25 degrees. Talk about a heatwave.LOL. I really did have a good time at the range. There is nothing quite like shooting a m2.
